New Music From The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends

It’s no secret that The Flaming Lips have been doing a lot of collaborating lately. Separate vinyl only EPs with Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, Prefuse 73, and Yoko Ono have been keeping the band busy since the release of Embryonic in 2009.

On Record Store Day, April 21, 2012, The Flaming Lips released Heady Fwends, a unique double-LP that became the most desireable Record Store Day title. In addition to the tracks included the previously released EPs, Heady Fwends also features collaborations with Bon Iver, Nick Cave, Tame Impala, Erykah Badu, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, and more.

Due to popular demand, The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends was released digitally and on CD this week. We’re thrilled to be sending this to your station.
