The Flaming Lips to play StePhest Colbchella ‘012

Last week, Stephen Colbert announced on The Colbert Report that he will be hosting his very own music festival, August 10th in New York atop U.S. Intrepid, A WWII Aircraft carrier docked in the Hudson River. Colbert boasted that the aptly named “StePhest Colbchella ‘012: RocktAugustFest” will be bigger and better than the likes of Bonarroo, Lollapalooza, and newly announced S.S. Coachella (also taking place on a boat!). With a lineup including The Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear and Santigold, it is definitely a veritable contender.

The free tickets for the event have already been snagged but Flaming Lips fans can no doubt catch the set when it airs the week following the festival on The Colbert Report.
