Lianne La Havas on La Blogotheque: A Take Away Show
Lianne La Havas‘ debut record Is Your Love Big Enough? went for adds last week. Her record takes alt-soul and inflects it with the ethereal folk of Feist or Cat Power. La Blogotheque witnessed this firsthand during a taping of A Take Away Show they did with Lianne late last year. Performing “No Room For Doubt”, she wanders through Place du Tertre in Paris amongst the bustle of the town square, strumming and singing, “this comfort, this charm, the smile hidden behind the sadness.” She’s surrounded by Parisians but her voice and demeanor give you the impression that, in her head, she’s all alone.
