Magnet Applauds Heavenly’s New Tunes
Magnet Magazine was in attendance at Heavenly‘s recent Philadelphia show, during which the band played plenty of songs from their original 1990s heyday. “But,” writes Magnet, “many of the new songs were highlights, too, including the punkish ‘Portland Town,’ the crash-pop ‘Excuse Me’ and the girl group-like ‘Scene Stealing.’ [New LP] Highway To Heavenly is an extension of the band’s youthful catalog; it’s an update, rather than a re-creation, and Dr. Amelia Fletcher and her bandmates are too smart and too engaged in the world to pretend they’re the same as they were in the ’90s.” The full review is here, and Heavenly will be back in the US for more tour dates next month:
