Jim Testa Recommends foamboy

Constant Listener: Jim Testa likes STUPID HOT, the new LP from foamboy. “I don’t usually go out of my way for electro-pop, but Foamboy makes a pretty convincing argument for reconsidering that stance. The Portland duo – producer Wil Bakula and vocalist Katy Ohsiek – have been at this for a decade, though you’d never know it from how fresh and featherlight these tracks feel. It’s slick without being sterile, catchy without trying too hard, and yes, danceable (in theory, anyway). Ohsiek’s vocals glide over the grooves with an easy, understated sensuality that never tips into cliché.
