John Densmore Explains Chuck D Collab To Haiti Creole Radio
Haiti Creole Radio has an insightful French-language interview with Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee John Densmore, who is at radio now with do+pe = no country for old men, his new collaboration with fellow Rock N Roll Hall of Famer Chuck D. The legendary Doors drummer says, “I was very inspired by Chuck D’s rap lyrics. They struck me with their rhythm and depth. We make music differently, but we share the same vision of the world. These twelve songs talk about nuclear danger and the speed at which our society is moving. People no longer have time to stop. You have to find this time, meditate, listen to music, get out of this crazy race, this obsession with drugs and all these false miracle solutions. Chuck D and I are old. But age gives us a step back. So he found the name, No Country for Old Men. It’s great, because it summarizes a little who we are. And I hope that somewhere there is a country for old wise men like us, who still have a conscience. ”
