The Midlands Rocks Says Driveway Ceiling Is Good For Eternity
Death of the Walden Newspaper Co., at radio now from Driveway Ceiling via Independent Project Records, is “a concept album that’s subversive and immersive, it demands that you dive head first into its bottomless depths, but be warned; you might be gone for some time.” That is according to The Midlands Rocks, which has a review of the new album and which calls it “a record for all time.” Read that here.
The site writes, “whilst tracks such as the sublime ‘Mr. Walden’ can be enjoyed individually, the interludes that pepper the album won’t work so well when taken out of context. Yet as a whole body of work with a creative arc it works perfectly, an invisible thread stitching the record together; the flowing water that forms the album’s outro also provides the introduction meaning you could listen to Death Of The Walden Newspaper Co. on a constant loop if you so wished, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend eternity.”
