John Cale “Face to the Sky” Video Premiere

Shifty Adventures in Nookie Wood, the first record in 7 years from John Cale, has proved that the most influential artist of the 20th century has plenty of more innovative ideas to part with. As an integral member of avant-pop group Velvet Underground, he laid the groundwork for what would become a style that countless bands would tap for decades to come. On his new record, Cale maintains the fearlessness that made him famous — spending hours smashing piano keys and tinkering with MPCs to find sounds that would hold up to the quality of his past work. In the video for “Face to the Sky”, Cale uses minimal movement and a gracious interpretive dancer to accent the song’s romantic sense of longing. Watch the video here.
