CMJ 2012 Recap

A man A plan A canal is still reeling from one of the best CMJ Music Marathon‘s yet! Thanks to everyone who made it out to the Medium Rotation party and to CJLO, CSCR, and CFRE for lovingly putting it together with us. This year marked the first year we hosted a showcase in New York. The inaugural show was co-presented by ORG Music and included blistering sets from Slam Dunk and Yellow Red Sparks. Slam Dunk were on a tear in New York and were on their second to last CMJ show by the time we hosted them. Singer Jordan Minkoff had to resort to his shoestring to use as a guitar strap and a satirical cover of Counting Crows classic “Mrs. Jones” while guitarist Duncan McConnell changed guitar strings. The group was a definite highlight of the entire festival. Other favorites included Mac Demarco, DIIV, Prince Rama, & Twerps. Graham celebrated his birthday at CMJ for the seventh year in a row. Thanks to SusieKSSU for rounding everyone up! An extra special thanks to KXLU, KCSB, KBUT, KVCU, Radio UTD, KWVA, Osprey Radio, WMBR, KSLU, KSLU – 2, WVFS, and WVUR who always found some extra hang time for us. See you all next year!
