Jason Lytle – Tiny Mixtapes Review – Radio K & KEXP Features
For his latest album, Jason Lytle left his already desolate home base of Modesto, CA for the even more isolated state of Montana. It was there where he meticulously crafted the songs found on his album Dept. of Disappearance. The area’s emptiness was perfect for Lytle, who has studied and translated these themes in his solo work and releases with Grandaddy. Tiny Mixtapes gave the record a great review saying, “Lytle makes a sort of orchestrated perfection feel so human”. “Dept. of Disappearance’s careful attention seems like the product of a focused isolationist, the moment where lost contact means a heightened sense of detail”. Read the full review here. Stations such as Radio K & KEXP have also taken note and given the record features. Give the album some attention as it goes for a new peak at CMJ.
