Devendra Banhart #1 Most Added at CMJ – Pitchfork Album Review – FCC Caution on “Won’t You Come Over”

It has been an incredible week for Devendra Banhart in the radio world after Mala became the #1 most added record at CMJ. A big thank you goes out to everyone who placed him in their top 5, we hope to see the support continue. Pitchfork had some kind words to say about the new album and its sense of humor: “…Mala is Banhart‘s best record in nearly a decade– largely because it’s his loosest and funniest.” Described as a series of silly songs about love, as opposed to “silly love songs,” they are considered some of his most plainspoken and legible tracks to date. “…there isn’t urgency per se, so much as immediacy resulting from how Mala often feels like snippets taken from Banhart‘s daily life.” Read the full review here.

Shouts out to WTUL for bringing to our attention the use of “p*ssing” on “Won’t You Come Over”, use your own discretion when playing this track.
