Sam Amidon – New Peak at CMJ – Paste Magazine Album Review
Sam Amidon‘s Bright Sunny South reached a new peak at CMJ last week, gaining enough support to land at #66! His new record reconstructs the idea of folk, as Amidon strips it of its stereotypical tropes to create a record that is honest and raw. He moves away from the atmospheric experimentation of his last two records on Bedroom Community and re-connects with the sounds of his debut album But This Chicken Proved Falsehearted, this time with “the maturity and mastery he’s gained as a working artist”. Paste Magazine praised the album in their review of it, giving it an 8.2. Read the full review here and help lead Amidon to a new peak this week!
