Cut Chemist – Going for Adds

“Work My Mind”, the latest single from Cut Chemist is going for Adds today & tomorrow! “Work My Mind” is the second single from the forthcoming album Die Cut due in 2014. The song features Chali 2na [Jurassic 5, Ozomatli] and Hymnal and samples “Alternative Fresh” by French, 80’s minimal synth group Vox Populi! “It’s a slightly new territory for me as it suggests the Golden Hip House Era of the late 80’s”, says Cut. “A dance track for sure and Chali kills it being exposed to the Chicago House scene back in the day. He seen where I was headed, and nailed it!” Cut Chemist is most famous for his work with the hip-hop group, Jurassic 5, a “six-piece MCing and DJing crew that brought the conscious rap style…to L.A.’s overwhelmingly gangstafied rap scene”, says AllMusic. After the group re-formed for a string of festivals and international shows in 2013, including Rock the Bells, Sonar, and Coachella, Cut Chemist is back to work on his solo project which includes some very exciting guest appearances. If “Work My Mind” serves as an example of what’s to come, the full-length is sure to be worth the wait.
