Going for Adds – Philip Selway “By Some Miracle”

Last Wednesday you should have received Philip Selway’s digital single, “By Some Miracle”. If you aren’t already famiiar, Philip Selway has been the drummer for Radiohead for 20+ years now.

However, with his debut album Familial, he’s stepping front and center as a singer/songwriter. The album, which features colaborations with singer/songwriter Lisa Germano, former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg, Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Sansone, is due out August 31st on Nonesuch Records.

Here is what SPIN.com had to say about the single:
“By Some Miracle” sounds nothing like any of Radiohead’s material: it’s a bedroom folk song with acoustic guitar, warm backing vocals, a spare string section, and Selway’s soft whispers about “giving into temptation” and then “crawling back again” to win a lover’s trust.”
