Imaginary Cities’ US debut, Temporary Resident, received a lot of praise from the Canadian press including a nomination for the 2011 Polaris Prize, which led to an opportunity to open for The Pixies in late 2011. The group crafts indie-pop songs which range from the driving and soaring to gloomy and introspective; all similar to that of their musical peers (Metric, Stars) but with the smoky haze of a Nina Simone song.
