While The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends was exciting, we still haven’t heard a “proper” Flaming Lips album in four years. Well, it’s time to get excited again since The Flaming Lips have announced their latest album, The Terror, due out on April 2nd! The album is currently available for pre-order and boasts a new, non-album bonus track called “Sun Blows Up Today“. Stereogum describes it as a “euphoric burst of white-noise keyboard explosions and feedback”. The song was featured in a 60 second commercial during The Super Bowl. Accompanying the song is a music video of perpetual explosions of colorful sparks and warped patterns — where psychedelia meets the 21st century.
