UntitledUK band The Melodic are set to release their debut album Effra Parade. The quartet, mixes folk with African, Caribbean, and Latin American influences to create a sound all their own. “South London’s The Melodic serve as a snapshot of the world as a whole… [blending] various musical stylings into something fresh and sleek, but with a nostalgic nod to their predecessors,” says Paste Magazine who premiered the band’s EP On My Way when it was released last summer. The Melodic spent much of September and October touring the US including a show at the CMJ Music Marathon last week. Songs like “Roots” have the lilt of Nico while others like “Plunge” offer arrangements and rhythms reminiscent of Beirut. The Melodic create unique mixes of worldly music that results in a vital sound entirely their own.
