Coming Soon: Philip Selway’s Familial and Serj Tankian’s Imperfect Harmonies

Posted on Jul 30, 2010

We’re excited to add two more incredibly diverse and talented artists to the A man A plan A canal roster.  Both Philip Selway and Serj Tankian are familiar names due to their long careers with Radiohead and System of a Downrespectively.

Familial, the drummer’s first solo record, is due out on Nonesuch Records in the US and Canada on August 31 and features guest performances from Lisa Germano, former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg, and Wilco‘s drummer Glenn Kotche and multi-instrumentalist Patrick Sansone, all of whom Philip met while recording Neil Finn‘s project 7 Worlds Collide (a collaborative album recorded to benefit Oxfam).  Keep your eyes peeled on Philip’s website for more info and, hopefully, for U.S. tour dates soon.

Serj Tankian’s album, Imperfect Harmonies, will be available in stores and on iTunes this September.  In describing the record, Serj says, “…Imperfect Harmonies could be classified as rock because it is punchy with many peaks throughout, but the instrumentation is somewhat different. Though there are live drums, bass, and some guitars, the driving aspects are electronic and orchestral. It’s quite unique in its sound palette. This is, in essence, music that has sat in the vat and matured to a ripe sensation and is now ready to serve.”

We can’t wait for you to savor both treats!
