Augustines are not slowing down as their sophomore release Augustines continues to climb its way to the top of the charts. Last week, the Seattle band jumped from #164 to #47 and now currently sits at #41 on CMJ‘s Top 200! FILTER Magazine wrote a review in which they say the album “combines to form a truly sublime album of heart-wrenching, heart-warming beauty.” Read the full review here. The single “Cruel City” leads the way, but Soundcheck Magazine gives the whole album “five stars all around.” With its widescreen arrangements, joyous energy and elegiac grace, Augustines sees the band’s artistry ascending to new heights, giving a distinctly more optimistic perspective than the band’s bittersweet debut.
