Earth Like Planets Going for Adds

Earth Like Planets is a fringe, darkwave solo act from Los Angeles that was conceived in 2012 by visual artist Brian Cooper. The emotional process that Cooper uses to make art is mimicked in the way he writes music. The ideas for each are conceived when Cooper is emotionally pulled by something: a lecture, an interview, a documentary. Their origin is a satisfaction of a natural desire to connect with the ethereal. Giving credence to his moniker, “Earth Like Planets is about getting people closer to something more in the world than what we perceive through all aspects of being and consciousness”.

Earth Like Planets manifests this feeling in his shows where songs are accompanied by original psychedelic projections. Sequenced drum machines, abstract lyrics, reverbed guitars, Indian raga patterns, synths, & deep, rich vocals make for a dark, entrancing sound. The result could be compared to a wide range of groups like Clinic, Tobacco, The Flaming Lips, and “the Stan Ridgway era” of Wall of Voodoo.

Earth Like Planets has already received support by stations like KXLU, KALX, & KCHUNG, and performed across Southern California at places like Don Bolles’ (ex-The Germs) “Ye Olde Hush Club” along with playing the record release show for Innovative Leisure’s De Lux.
