Vetiver talks to Billboard – Announces US Tour – New Peak at CMJ

Andy Cabic of Vetiver has long been a staple of the San Francisco music scene. For an area that once was home to artists like John Dwyer (Thee Oh Sees), Ty Segall, & Jessica PrattCabic is one the last few musicians standing. “When I moved to San Francisco [in 1998]…you could…not really have an idea of what you were gonna do. I found my way, but I don’t think that the city let’s you do that anymore.” Consequence of Sound described his new record, Complete Strangers, as “a subtle album that feels immediately familiar, yet reveals fresh and unexpected elements with each new listen”. In an interview with Billboard, “he credits…his longtime producer Thom Monahan (Devendra Banhart, Buxton, Beachwood Sparks)” for the “balance of old and new” the record carries. Vetiver will head to Spain and Portugal in mid-May with longtime collaborator / friend Devendra Banhart for a series of intimate shows.
