Sam Cohen Makes Chart Debut & Talks to Flavorwire

Sam Cohen made his solo debut on the CMJ Radio 200 this week with his album Cool It. After years fronting Apollo Sunshine and the Yellowbirds, as well as doing session work for a stunning variety of stars including the Grateful Dead‘s Bob Weir, the multi-instrumentalist self-recorded himself playing almost every note of the new album, which has a laid-back summer afternoon vibe to compliment his psychedelic, folk, and prog-rock leanings.

Flavorwire recently featured Cohen, and album cut “Last Dream”, in its Intake Form column. The website asked Cohen a series of questions via questionaire, finding out what Beatle he most relates to and which songwriter’s career he’d most like to have. Go here to learn the answers to those questions, get Cohen’s views on technology, and find out about his subway nemesis.
