Brightest Young Things Interviews Allen Tate

Brightest Young Things has an insightful interview with Allen Tate, who sings in San Fermin and recently released a gorgeous solo album entitled Sleepwalker. Conducted right before Donald Trump’s inauguration, the interview doesn’t only touch on musical topics but breaches Tate’s ideas about where America is going as a nation in 2017. “There are a lot of different people and a lot of different experiences you can be having living in this country, and not all of them go together,” Tate told the site, “But I subscribe to the idea that people are good and want good things for themselves and the basic needs for their family, even if they’re operating from places of fear or what they think the solutions or causes of their problems are wrong.” Of course, the interview also includes a detailed discussion of Tate’s music, his relationship with San Fermin, his longing to go back to school, and his half-sarcastic desire to follow Beyoncé‘s career path.
