The Boston Globe Explores The Barr Brothers’ New England Roots

The Barr Brothers are a Canadian band, but brothers Andrew and Brad Barr weren’t born in the Great White North. Rather, they got their start in New England. “In the mid-’90s, as Berklee College students,” writes The Boston Globe, “they rocked [local venues] the Middle East, the Paradise, and Somerville Theatre” in an “avant-rock jam-trio” called The Slip. They moved to Montréal because Andrew was chasing love, and it was there that they found their final bandmate, Sarah Pagé. Together, they’ve won several Juno Awards and are currently on tour behind new album Queens of the Breakers.
