Lido Pimienta Makes Polaris Short List

Lido Pimenta won the Polaris Prize in 2017 for her LP La Papessa, and she’s now on the short list for this year’s Polaris Prize. According to a press release, “The Polaris Music Prize awards $50,000 to the artist who creates the Canadian Album of the Year, judged solely on artistic merit, without consideration for genre or record sales.” Congratulations to Pimienta on being one of the ten artists selected for the short list! The winner will be announced during a ceremony on October 19.
