The Flaming Lips Go Ivy League

The Harvard Crimson writes that The Flaming Lips’ American Head – the 16th studio record from the seminal, acid-drenched, psych-pop progenitors – “confronts the complex legacy of their past with openness and warmth.” The record has a “nostalgic mood,” the paper writes, and it focuses its gaze in a more different direction than previous Lips releases. “With their wisdom and perspective,” the Crimson contends, “The Flaming Lips do away with seeking inspiration in other worlds: They’ve shown that Earth is full of untold stories.” Read the review here and play American Head today.
