Wayne Coyne Talks Music and Serums With October

The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne recently told October that “music Is a truth serum. It can get in there and it can say things that you wouldn’t dare say if you didn’t have the music with you. I think when we’re singing about our regrets and our pain and our uncertainty and our being scared and all that, that always resonates with people.” He was telling the mag about American Head, the newest Lips album and one that turns its focus away from druggy escapism and towards nostalgia, Americana, and an imagined version of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
