Phil Elverum Releases Silent Version Of The Microphones in 2020

Earlier this year, Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie) returned to his previous musical moniker, The Microphones, to release the autobiographical opus The Microphones in 2020. At almost 45 minutes long, the single-track album has been critically acclaimed, winning praise from Pitchfork, NPR, and others. Now, Elverum has announced a new “silent version” of the record. According to a description on his website, “This is a libretto, a heavy lyric booklet, a brick of source images.
