The Big Takeover Reviews IPR’s Releases From Shiva Burlesque, The Ophelias, and Alison Clancy

The Big Takeover has details about the three new releases from Independent Project Records. According to the site, “the IPR relaunch is off to a great start, releasing records that not only feed nostalgia for a certain era of alternative rock, but also argue for their importance as more than mere college rock footnotes.” Shiva Burlesque‘s Mercury Blues (which is available along with demo set Skulduggery) is “a wonderful record… a once tragically lost but now happily found classic.” Bare Bodkin, from the Ophelias, features “songs that sound channeled from another, more mystical dimension,” while Alison Clancy‘s Mutant Gifts “features her ghostly croon over an atmospheric swoon.”
