Spectrum Culture Explores Fruit Bats’ New LP, #10 At NACC
According to Spectrum Culture, Fruit Bats’ new LP A River Running To Your Heart “does a good job of mixing tempos while keeping to a consistent style. It’s sort of an updated Wild West sound. It’s softer around the edges, blurred, and this creates a nicer set of songs. Sometimes country music has a way of pushing the boundaries in the wrong direction, recalling old music themes too much. Here, Johnson gives off both Tom Petty and Neil Young vibes. His voice is a bit scratchy but in an interesting, pleasant way that works with the type of music he’s creating, adding an authentic layer. He sounds like he was born to sing this stuff.” Read their full review right here.
