WWAM Praises Occurrence For Their Lyrical Complexity And Musical Novelty

We Write About Music has an essay on Occurrence’s song “Universe Moves So Fast,” from Slow Violence, at radio now. The lyrics, according to the site, are “complex… [and cover] deep themes… The actual music portion is as impressive as ever too, although we were definitely a bit surprised by its lofi feel and aesthetic. The vocal portions were certainly a favorite and we really enjoyed the stylistic feel of having them sit in the back of the mix while the instrumentals stole the show being right up in the forefront. While we wouldn’t quite classify it as shoegaze, there’s absolutely some elements that are shown through, adding a bit of pizzazz and genre-bending which is right up this band’s alley… The song feels entirely like its own new genre and style.” See the full review here, and give “Universe Moves So Fast” or any of the other songs on Slow Violence a spin at your station.
