IPR issues Shiva Burlesque and Scenic Vinyl

Independent Project Records is out with two beautiful vinyl editions of albums they issued on CD last year: Shiva Burlesque‘s Mercury Blues + Skulduggery, and Scenic‘s Incident At Cima. Featuring IPR’s Jeffrey Clark along with a pre-Grant Lee Buffalo Grant-Lee Phillips, who were also members of Torn Boys (also at radio now), Shiva Burlesque was described by Melody Maker as having created “a marriage of Joy Division’s shadowy abstractions and Love’s Forever Changes […]. A trip into startled wonder.” Scenic, a project of IPR founder Bruce Licher, is an instrumental dessert-inspired post-rock album that, according to Rolling Stone‘s David Fricke, “Suggests Ennio Morricone dune-surfing in Death Valley.”
