David J Speaks With Outside Left
David J – of Bauhaus and Love & Rockets renown – recently spoke with Outside Left magazine and explained, “I think [art is] vitally important, and it’s much more than an escape. It can be that, but it’s also a vital outlet where the artists can voice their feelings and opinions about the stuff that’s going on in the world. That can resonate with the audience, you know, and in that resonance the audience can find succour and some sort of kind of relief. I think, just on that level, it’s very important. Also, as a voice of protest, to get that out there, and on a sort of vibrational level, to put out the positive in the context of all the negative that’s going around. I think art does that very powerfully.” Get the full interview here.
Independent Project Records has just released Tracks From The Attic, a three-disc collection of David J’s cassette home recordings. It’s at radio now.
