JJA Honors Mary Halvorson As “Guitarist Of The Year”
We mentioned previously that Mary Halvorson was nominated for the Jazz Journalist Association‘s award for 2024 Guitarist of the Year. Of course, we weren’t surprised to learn this week that she won the award! Check out the full list of winners here. Congratulations to Halvorson, her Amaryllis sextet, and Nonesuch Records, which released their album Cloudward earlier this year.
The album, which got to the top of the NACC and Earshot Jazz charts earlier this year, is at radio now.
