Paltrocast Features David J
Darren Paltrowitz recently interviewed David J for his Paltrocast series, noting that the Bauhaus and Love & Rockets founder “has remained an in-demand collaborator with notable artists for decades. Albums by Jane’s Addiction, The Dandy Warhols and Tres Vampires have featured material he helped compose. Described by Snail as “an ode to Brian Eno’s ambient soundscapes,” it features Snail on Omnichord, drums, synths, and effects. “These instrumentals,” she says, “represent a feeling that I wanted to convey; uneasiness, anxiety, intensity, reservation. As the album progresses, I wanted to enforce a more positive feeling; hope, beauty, resonance, reflection.” The album also features Alan Sparhawk (@lowtheband) guesting on ethereal guitar, while Snail’s partner Dan West (d’Animal, @dwest69) plays bass.
