Higher Plain Music Loves Beams

Higher Plain Music calls the new one from Beams “a rally cry for peace and humanity in a world that needs regeneration… Canadian indie psychedelic rock band Beams returns with their fourth album Requiem for a Planet and continues to bring their unique genre-striding style. You can probably tell it is difficult for me to cram all the genres in a single sentence, but it is because Beams effortlessly weaves bits of folk, indie, psyche and traditional supergroup-styled rock together. I adored their 2021 album Ego Death and it seems their new album focuses on a wider death of our planet. In doing so, the band has tweaked its sound to become a little more rustic. There is a shift towards Americana and an element of blues trickling in alongside some of the hazier production that comes with a lower-fi production.” Read the review here.

Requiem For A Planet is at radio now, and Beams continues to tour North America with four more shows this week:

5/22 – Chicago, IL – Hideout
5/23 – Milwaukee, WI – Cactus Club
5/24 – Windsor, ON – Phog Lounge
5/25 – London, ON – Palasad Socialbowl
