Laurie Anderson Walks New Sounds Through Amelia

New Sounds writes that, on Laurie Anderson‘s Amelia Earhart-inspired new LP Amelia, “Anderson imagines the noise in the cockpit, the heat of no ventilation, the likely mirages that Earhart saw as she grew more and more tired.” The site has a long audio feature on Anderson and the new set, and invites those who are interested to “listen to the updated piece Amelia (first performed in 2000 at Carnegie Hall) as Laurie Anderson introduces most of the work and talks about her ‘ideas of what a woman flying around the world might think about.'” Check that out here. Amelia is at radio now from Nonesuch.
