Keturah Releases New Music Video
Keturah has released a new music video from her self-titled album, which is at radio now from Hen House Studios. About “Ku Nyumba,” she says, “This song was inspired by a true story: when I was staying in my home village in Malawi, an old lady who used to visit me and who always asked for help, told me that she was staying alone. I was concerned. No one to care for her and stay with her at home. Where are your children? I asked – and she answered that she had three adult children, one being a doctor and the other two also educated and staying in Blantyre city. Why do you come and ask for help, since you have well-to-do children? I asked. She started crying. My children don’t come and see me because they think I am a witch and I will bring them bad luck, she said. It hurt me to hear this, as a woman. That her children abandoned her like that. How it feels to be isolated by your own children. Abandoning your own mother back in the village. This song’s message is: ‘Always remember where you’re coming from. Make sure your mother is fine. Go back home. Be a responsible person. Don’t forget where you are coming from. Because that is who you are.”
