The Second Disc Tells Denise LaSalle’s Story

Denise LaSalle is currently at radio with the ORG reissue of her Westbound Records debut, Trapped By A Thing Called Love. The Second Disc says the album’s title track “epitomizes the sound of Memphis soul just as much as the better-known Al Green record ‘Tired Of Being Alone,'” which was also arranged by Willie Mitchell.  The site reviewed a previous reissue of LaSalle’s work back in 2011, and the feature includes biographical details of this hugely influential but largely unsung artist. Learn more about Denise LaSalle here.

Like all the Westbound reissues, these legendary recordings have now been remastered by award winning engineer Dave Gardner with restoration and tape transfers by archival specialist Catherine Vericolli, and additional engineering assistance from in-house 54 Sound engineer Nick King. They sound great, and they are at radio now!
