Michael Doherty recently got his hands on Eramus Hall’s Lost And Found, which was released last year by Westbound Records and ORG Music. The set features newly-unearthed records from the incredible psychedelic soul funk group. In Doherty’s review, he calls “Determination,” the album opener, “a smooth, cool number,” while other tracks are described as “fun and funky.” The detailed review is here, and the album is at radio now.

The record is both ethereal and grounded, evoking a deep sense of introspection and blending narrative lyrics with one-take lead vocal performances, cinematic arrangements, rich soundscapes, and lush orchestration. Vollebekk – who self-produced and plays piano, guitar, bass, B3 organ, harmonica, accordion and Moog synthesizer – compiled an impressive supporting cast including drummer Jim Keltner, steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar (Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Rod Stewart), and bassist Shahzad Ismaily. The album was mixed by Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Arctic Monkeys, Tracy Chapman) and mastered by Greg Calbi.
