New Music From Alison Clancy

Alison Clancy‘s haunting new track “The Valley” reflects the questions and ambiguities that just keep coming… tension hums like a storm on the horizon—steady, unyielding—but instead of drowning, you breathe deeper; each repetition of the piano clearing the air. A collaboration with producer Stephen Masucci of The Lost Patrol, and engineered by Larry Alexander (Diana Ross, David Bowie), “The Valley”‘s expansive soundscape shimmers with melodic nostalgia, laced with a twinge of foreboding strangeness. Clancy’s voice sounds fragile as it drifts along the razor’s edge between vulnerability and power.

Are her words questions or statements? The potential of pain or pleasure is washed over by the cascading piano line Alison composed in the basement rehearsal rooms of The Metropolitan Opera, where she is a dancer.
