Kaela Talks Process With Sequential

Sequential has an interview with Kaela, who is at radio now with her debut LP Supraliminal. She’s also a member of M83 and has worked with other esteemed artists including Sofi Tukker. In this interview, Kaela gives some of her musical story and also breaks down how she crafts synth sounds. “On the Prophet X,” she says, “I start by choosing a waveform for each of the two oscillators, then pitch one up a couple of cents and the other down a couple of cents to add some character. Next I adjust the cutoff and resonance to where I like them, then shape the amp ADSR and play with the filter envelope. From there, I try on some effects and bring in sample instruments to blend with the oscillators.”
