MUSIKEXPRESS Enjoys Kaela’s Electronic Eclecticism

German magazine MUSIKEXPRESS has taken to Supraliminal, the debut LP from M83 member Kaela, writing in a review that it’s “an analog waking dream composed of a never-ending synthesizer bubble bath; nothing makes sense, but everything is connected… Kaela creates collages of sounds we never knew existed. Sometimes it rains glitter, then again there’s a booming roar from outer space. Supraliminal could pass as an ambient work with occasional spa-like touches, such as crickets chirping. On the one hand. On the other hand, there are great pop moments with vocals: ‘Tender’ is yearning electro-dream pop, while ‘Devotion’ has beat, bass, and punch and sounds as if Grimes had taken over from Röyksopp.” Here it is in the original German.

Supraliminal is out now via Other Suns and going for radio spins today!
