GULFF Issues “the rumo(u)r” Video

GULFF has released a video for “the rumo(u)r,” one of two singles that has now emerged from the new multi-disciplinary electronic music project. The group’s Tod Lippy says, “I created the video for this second single from the forthcoming GULFF album by sourcing the byproducts of artificial intelligence—unbridled data center expansion, methane emissions, AI slop, and the endless noise pollution endured by those living in neighborhoods bordering data center facilities.” See it here.

What is the rumo(u)r? Well, it seems ominous. GULFF says, “The rumo(u)r is they’re going to build one of those Data Centers in the neighbourhood. On the lot of the old hospital. About time somebody knocked that place down. It’ll bring jobs, I’m sure. Some prestige, and wealth. Look what happened in San Francisco. They’re calling us ‘Data Center Alley’ already. It sounds cute but it reminds me of tornados.”
