Inara George Starts Tour

We Heart Music caught the opening date of Inara George‘s tour, on which she is performing songs from her new album Songs of Douglass & Littell as well as renditions of favorites from her long solo career and the project she’s perhaps best known for, the bird and the bee. The show was a great success, as was her performance the next night in Evanston, Illinois (we can say this for certain because one of us was there). Her touring band features keyboards from the extraordinarily talented Eliot Douglass, one of the songwriters featured on George’s new album, and includes JP Maramba on upright bass and Dan Schnelle on drums. They’re loose in a fun and confident way, and it’s fun to hear their intepretations of George’s solo material and her work with the bird and the bee.
