New Music From Kaela

Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Kaela explores ambient, experimental electronic, and art pop on Supraliminal (remixes), a collection of new interpretations of her 2025 debut album out now via Other Suns, the label founded by M83’s Anthony Gonzalez. A touring and recording member of M83 since 2016, Kaela contributed to the band’s 2023 album Fantasy and its accompanying world tour, and has collaborated with Sofi Tukker, King Princess, Troye Sivan, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith. Written and produced primarily in her home studio, Supraliminal brought together analog synthesizers, layered vocals, and cinematic production. The remix album opens that deeply personal material to other perspectives, inviting artists and friends to reshape its songs with complete creative freedom.

“I wrote and produced the original album almost entirely on my own,” Kaela explains. “After its release, I found myself wanting more collaboration and creative exchange, and the songs felt open to new interpretations.” Moving between ambient, experimental electronic, and pop, the resulting collection expands the original album’s emotional and sonic world while maintaining a connection to its spirit. Each contributor approaches the material in their own voice, and the album concludes with a seamless mix of every remix, bringing the individual interpretations into conversation and revealing unexpected connections between them. “I hope listeners discover familiar songs in unexpected ways,” Kaela says, “and find something new with each listen.”
