foamboy is a Portland-based pop duo comprised of producer Wil Bakula and vocalist Katy Ohsiek, who worked together for many years in other projects before releasing their debut My Sober Daydream in 2021, followed by 2024’s Eating Me Alive. The group has earned recognition from KCRW, Consequence of Sound, and Week in Pop. Foamboy has graced some of Portland’s favorite stages, including Mississippi Studios, Holocene, and Doug Fir Lounge.Listeners can expect jazz-inspired danceable pop with a hyper-personal lyrical edge. Their shows often feature seven or more players on stage, including a horn section. They now return with the new EP lime, knife, time, hand.
The band says, “This EP is all about feeling super weird and awkward in social settings and comparing yourself to everyone around you. I wanted to capture the feeling of paranoia and self-scrutiny. Sonically, it feels like a natural continuation of the sound we established on ‘Eating Me Alive,’ with a notable first: our first featured vocalist besides Katy! So excited for people to hear Bendrethegiant on the track “On My Mind.””
