Québecois artist Bobby Bazini has released a new remix of “Waterfallin’,” one of the highlights from his 2023 LP Pearl. About that album, Atwood Magazine wrote, “Cinematic, soulful, and smoldering, Pearl aches with heated passion and raw vulnerability as Bobby Bazini finds clarity and catharsis, making peace with his demons and rediscovering himself on a deeply intimate, yet undeniably universal journey.”

The remix was crafted by Gilles Peterson, the influential DJ and producer who founded the labels Acid Jazz, Talkin’ Loud, and Brownswood Recordings and who hosts a three-hour bloc every Saturday afternoon on the UK’s BBC6. According to Bazini, “Gilles was one of the earliest supporters of my song ‘Waterfallin” on 6 Music when it came out in the U.K. last year. When I learned that he had made a remix for the song, I honestly couldn’t believe it! I’m a huge fan of Gilles, and I love this remix a lot and his interpretation of my song. It’s so great and hopefully it brings the track to a new audience.”
